The smell of cookies and pies and needlework can be found in a home adjacent to Elmore County High School. Visitors gather and come in following the scent trail of cooking apples, bread and more.

Instead of it being home to a grandmother or great aunt cooking up a great treat or meal, it’s the classroom and lab of family and consumer science teacher Natasha McMillan. She’s teaching students how to take home the hypnotic smells of a kitchen and sewing techniques that would make any homemaker jealous.
