There were “multiple manhunts” and all sorts of “drugs” found last week at Children’s Harbor and Russell Lands properties as the Alabama Department of Corrections held its fourth annual K9 competition.
The event attracted corrections officers, law enforcements, K9s and horses from across the Southeast. Some traveled from Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Georgia to compete over three days. The teams simulated finding narcotics in buildings and vehicles and tracking suspects through wilderness and buildings. It’s the second year the competition has been open to out-of-state K9 teams.
