No hearing as Ivy Creek, ECEDA head to trial

A lawsuit filed by Ivy Creek Healthcare against the Elmore County Economic Development Authority in August is headed to trial in November.

The Elmore County Healthcare Authority is the defendant in the case with ECEDA where Ivy Creek states ECEDA has been in conversations with Baptist Health of Montgomery to come to Elmore County. The lawsuit is seeking the court’s intervention in ECEDA seeking requests for proposals for healthcare in Elmore County as Ivy Creek holds a lease on Elmore Community Hospital through 2035. Defendants say the lease expires in 2030 and the requests for proposals are needed to provide proper planning for future healthcare services in Elmore County.
