The halls of Elmore County High School are decorated with student-made art.

Cliff Williams / TPI Elmore County High School arts teacher Marie Gates, left, poses with Kate Harrell, Skylar Segrest and Addison Darden last week. The trio of students followed the prompting of Gates and saw their artwork accepted to the Alabama National Fair art show.

Much of it was created as students studied under art teacher Marie Gates. Recently some of the art by ECHS was exhibited at the Alabama State Fair for the first time.
