Last year did not go quite according to plan for the Holtville football team.

The Bulldogs ultimately finished the year with a 2-8 record, but of those two wins — Sylacauga was one of them. In the third week of the year, Holtville squeaked away with a 34-31 win over the opposing Aggies, much thanks to a 142-yard rushing yard and two touchdown night from Daishaun Zeigler.
