Crowds pour into downtown Wetumpka for Oktoberfest

Thousands poured into the downtown streets of Wetumpka for the fourth annual Oktoberfest over the weekend.

Many visited the shops and vendors. Some drank. Even fewer participated in stein holding and the hot dog eating contest at Grumpy Dog. But there was one eating contestant who didn’t know he was going to join the competition until four minutes before. Millbrook’s Jacob Boswell had just eaten lunch at the Coosa Clever. He was watching the fun in the streets on his way to Cooper House Deli when — with little coaxing — took the last spot in the eating contest.
