Cliff Williams / TPI Elmore County Schools superintendent Richard Dennis said Elmore County Schools are searching for students just like the state is.

Like many school systems in Alabama, the Elmore County Board of Education is searching for more than 100 students who disappeared without a trace between last year and this year.

The Alabama State Department of Education is reporting 5,000 in grades kindergarten through 11th grade last year that did not withdraw or re-enroll at another school this year. Elmore County has 123 of those students.
