Elmore County students studying Bible during school day

Middle schoolers in Elmore County Public Schools have access to classes on the Bible thanks to state legislation from 2019. Gov. Kay Ivey signed a bill allowing students to be taken from a school during the school day off site to study the Bible. In Elmore County the program is headed by School Ministries Elmore County president and Robinson Springs Methodist Church pastor Janet Krantz.

“Some of our students are actively involved in a church and in their faith,” Krantz said. “Some have no experience whatsoever. So, we have a very diverse group that meets in a nondenominational setting.”
