Junior running back Daishaun Ziegler (4) and the Holtville football team look to get their first win over Shelby County this Friday.

After a nail-biter at Trinity last week, the Bulldogs are back home this week taking on the Shelby County Wildcats. While not in Holtville’s region, Shelby County is another 5A team from Columbiana. 

In last season’s matchup, Shelby County came back from a 14-10 deficit at the half to beat the Bulldogs 31-14. It was a dominant offensive performance for the Wildcats, coupled with some key defensive stops that ultimately gave them 21 unanswered points for the win.
