For two centuries education has been vital to the Holtville community.
For more than 100 years education existed in the churches of northwest Elmore County. They slowly consolidated through Cains Chapel Church in Holtville. Then the Spanish architecture came to life in the green cornfields of the community. By 1925 Holtville High School was issuing its own diplomas. Just a few years later, the school was held up as a Southern Association Study School. That led to the Holtville Story movie where Holtville was one of four schools nationwide to be recognized for its teaching methods. It was broadcast around the world in 22 languages.
