The prior Elmore County Commission administration was cited by auditors for failure to comply with the state bid laws regarding the renovations to the Elmore County Jail between October 2011 and the end of September 2012.

In the the audit report released by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts the audit said the commission failed to allow for bids on the work done to the jail during that time.
