With thousands of records boxed up in the Cook Building and the old Elmore County Jail, the county will now have someone to archive the documents so that they are not destroyed.

The county commission unanimously approved the request of probate judge John Enslen to create an archivist position to handle and record the thousands of documents, which date back decades.
