Medical community explains breast cancer screening guidelines

Russell Medical Cancer Center director Dr. George Miranda explained some of the guidelines around breast cancer screenings.

Survival rates for breast cancer are high, according to Russell Medical Cancer Center director Dr. George Miranda, largely because of screenings that catch it early.

However, to keep the survival rate high people need to be aware of the guidelines when it comes to breast cancer screenings. For average-risk individuals, annual mammograms begin at 40 years old.
