The Holtville Bulldogs came back after a heart-breaking Week 1 loss against Trinity and defeated Shelby County 35-13 in a dominant performance. They were led by senior quarterback Jacob Burgess with 262 total passing yards and four touchdowns.
Burgess was the starter last season against Shelby County in a 31-14 loss, having only four completions out of 17 attempts for a total of 74 yards. This season, Burgess has begun to emerge as one of the best quarterbacks in the county, proved by his hot-hand against the Wildcats this week.
