PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Heaven Bailey elevates, leads on court

In basketball, sometimes it’s hard to spot a really good point guard and other times it’s pretty easy, depending on their style of play. Usually you’d look for whoever takes the ball down the floor, how they pass, how they score, how they create opportunities for their teammates to shine. 

Stanhope Elmore’s Heaven Bailey, a recent transfer from Montgomery Catholic, does all of that and more. In the first week of the basketball season, Bailey is averaging over 20 points per game and 9.5 steals – just shy of a double-double. She is the Elmore County Player of the Week.
