After putting up a record-breaking 24 tackles last week against region rival Russell County, Wetumpka linebacker Walter Myrick is this week’s Elmore County Player of the Week.

Wetumpka’s Walter Myrick has “the it factor” for a linebacker. A senior for the Indians, Myrick has stepped into a critical leadership role on the defense, bringing a unique type of grit, energy and relentlessness to the field. 

Myrick is a textbook example of an impact player and after putting up 24 total tackles against Russell County last week, breaking Wetumpka’s single-game record for tackles. Myrick is the Elmore County Player of the Week.
