Volleyball postseason is kicking off in Elmore County and everyone is ready and excited for the challenge.
Wetumpka
The Wetumpka Indians have found a way to win games on the volleyball court this season, doing whatever it takes. They return a handful of seniors with a lot of experience, even with a first-year volleyball coach in Brooke Watson. The Indians sit comfortably at the No. 2 seed in Class 6A Area 4, ahead of rivals Stanhope Elmore and Percy Julian, but behind a very strong Montgomery Academy team. The Indians have maintained an overall winning record this season, as well as within their area. They will have to play at the top of their game to qualify for the regional tournament, but it is very much in reach for them. The area tournament will take place Wednesday. The third rivalry showdown of the season against Stanhope Elmore will be at 5:30, in which the winner will qualify for regionals. Although they enter as the higher seeded team, it will be no walk in the park for the Indians.Â
