Stanhope Elmore (1-1) is set to open AHSAA Class 6A Region 2 competition against Percy Julian (1-1) at 17 Springs this Friday. The Mustangs dropped their Week 2 rivalry game against Prattville in the annual Battle for I-65, 43-13.
Quarterback Davis Foshee gave the Mustangs hope in the first quarter, connecting with senior wide receiver Zac Holcombe for a 54-yard touchdown strike. A celebration penalty foiled Stanhope Elmore’s extra point and left them down 7-6 after the first quarter.
