The Wetumpka City Council is looking to extend for a year a moratorium on any new package stores, convenience stores, gas stations, vape shops, mini-warehouses and self storage facilities in the corporate limits of Wetumpka.

The council first introduced a temporary moratorium in May 2025. Renewing the moratorium was on the council’s agenda for a first read, meaning the council can take it up at its next meeting.
