Rhett Pinkston is following the history of his ancestors — leaving a mark on Elmore County.
A set of monuments are part of the Historic Elmore County Courthouse thanks to the work of Pinkston. It includes a time capsule that was sealed Sunday and not to be opened in September 2087 as America celebrates the 300th birthday of the U.S. Constitution. The installation includes replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Pinkston worked with Foundation Forward in North Carolina on the project in the couple of years leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic.
