Wetumpka posts first shutout since 2016

Admittedly, Wetumpka’s offense performance to start the football season was a bit lackluster. However, the defense was anything but.

In a non-region game against Andalusia – after a two-hour road trip no less – Wetumpka put on a show defensively, posting its first shutout since 2016. But what was even more impressive than not letting the Bulldogs score at all was the fact Wetumpka, in a 19-0 victory, allowed only one play that went for more than 10 yards and it was the second-to-last play of the game.
