Tragedy struck Central Texas the weekend of July 4, when a life-threatening flash flood resulted in dozens of reported deaths. Twenty-seven of these deaths were young girls and staff members of Camp Mystic. 

School is nearly back in session and Tallapoosa and Coosa counties are getting ready just for that. 

“You don’t know until you try,” is a common motto heard around the halls of Edward Bell Career Tech Center. Tallapoosa County School’s Director of Career & Technical Education Andy Chamness can attest to that in his own life.

A handful of residents came to Monday’s Camp Hill Town Council meeting to discuss the need for cleaner streets and rights-of-way around town.

Hurricane season is upon us and although the area doesn't generally get hit by the worst of those storms, it does experience “spin off” severe weather in the form of tornadoes, lightning, winds and heavy rain.

With the seat for Camp Hill mayor being up for grabs, the Ebenezer District Center was the site of a mayoral forum this past Saturday.
