Two playoff teams are set to face off Friday in their last Class 2A Region 4 game — Central Coosa and Reeltown.
Although the season ended sooner than it would have liked, there is still much to be excited about when it comes to the Central Coosa volleyball team.
“Who is going to the playoffs?”
History in the making is the best way to describe the season Central Coosa is having at this point in time.
It was almost to be expected to a degree, but the Central Coosa football team couldn’t overcome the Goliath that is Lanett on Friday night, falling 53-0.
The Central Coosa Cougars had a rough go of things last week in a 58-6 loss to Loachapoka — and this week it does not get much better.
One defensive touchdown can happen, but it won’t determine the outcome of a game.
Unfortunately, sometimes it’s not your day — and it certainly was not Central Coosa’s on Thursday night.
At just about the halfway mark for most football teams in the state of Alabama, it’s time to see who’s in and who’s out at this point in the season across the coverage area.
If Central Coosa can clean up its errors, it can surely be a competitive volleyball team going forward.
Central Coosa was on a mission. It wanted to do something it hadn’t done since 2015 — win three games in a row.
Something special is brewing for the Central Coosa football team, and the Cougars show no signs of slowing down.
One win was not good enough for the Central Coosa Cougars, so they went out and got two.
Even when not at full strength, Central Coosa’s Cory Thompson is a game-changer.

Horseshoe Bend and Central Coosa head into Friday with the same goal in mind — to obtain the first win of the football season.
The Cougars of Central Coosa welcomed in the Bulldogs of Winterboro on Friday night in a game that would ultimately see the Bulldogs best the Cougars, 58-24.
This week, the Central Coosa Cougars have the upper hand in terms of classification, but according to coach Daniel Flowers, they get to play someone more like themselves with Winterboro.
Although the final score last week may not have indicated it, Central Coosa is a vastly improved team this year.
When more than 100 total points are scored on the night, that’s an easy indicator that not a whole lot of defense was played.
Despite a valiant effort from Central Coosa late in its Week 1 road trip, Coosa fell to an intriguing Sylacauga Aggies squad, 44-22, on Friday night in non-region football action.
