The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs, ranked No. 6 by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, defeated rival Wetumpka in the AHSAA Class 6A Area 5 tournament championship, 71-54. Both teams move on to the sub-regional round, although those games have not been announced yet.
